I had perceived but never shown
till then. In her arms, all was still,
save for the grasses swaying under the sea
of that fine moment in eternity.
I left you sleeping
Though I longed to wake your lips
that in the moonlight beckoned
like the dream that had to end.
But I’ll return
by bus or parachute or car,
whatever it takes
in this cold world
that breaks all human bonds.
I shall return
on roads that never end
to dream with you again.
